RE: Garner State Park TX

Poor wording and I left a 't' off. We are not representives of the park. I was just trying to say it would be a great place to volunteer if you are in the area.

Garner State Park TX

We are volunteering at Garner and in no are representing the state parks. This is our first time volunteering in a state park and find it very interesting. All of the rangers are very easy going and friendly. It appears they have been 'burned' by volunteers before and are not interested in starting out with any long-term commitment. If you would like to ride a mower or other jobs for 24 hrs/wk and are in the area you might stop and talk to them. I’m not sure it would be worthwhile if you have to drive far to get here. Full hook ups and free laundry.

RE: What am I missing??

I agree. I guess it's different stokes for different folks. You can pay whatever you want to pay. There is a place in Kerrville TX that you can stay in their park model for not much more than they charge for a parking place. There are places in Texas that you can stay for less than $350/mo. including electricity and some near free.

RE: Locating land?

I've been away but thanks for all the responses. I guess there isn't a magic bullet that will get the word to most snowbirds.

RE: NADA Value

We want to replace our class C with a gas A (2005-2007)and have heard about all the great deals to be had. We must be looking in all the wrong places. In most cases you can buy new as cheap as used. Any suggestions on where to look?

RE: Deal or No Deal,Buying a 5'er w/ a trade

So you're saying 50,400 - 15,120 (MSRP-30%)= $35,280 would be a good cash price? If that is correct, sounds like the dealer is giving about $9,000 for the trade in. Isn't a '08 worth more than $9,000?

RE: Good Prices or not mobile suites and select suites

How about selling your current rig and buying new one with no trade. Send me a PM if that is of interest. We are moving from Class C to 5er.

Tom
Thanks, that's what I'm looking for, other ideas. I have 'heard' that one group hires for most of the theaters, is that true and if so who are they?

Branson Only

There have been mentions of working in Branson, but I need more information. We want to spend 3 to 6 months there seeing the shows and sights. Where is the best place to work? When is the best time to work there? How do you get a job there? Where do you stay? Please be specific with as much information as you can give. We have looked at all the web sites and still have questions.

We would like the same information, with a heavy emphasis on 'legitimate work'. There seem to be loads of scams, but few legitimate.

Any suggestions on finding jobs in Branson? The web search didn't turn much up. Working in a live theater sounds interesting.

RE: Why I Left Texas for the Summer

Don't equate all of Texas with the I-35 corridor and east. Yes that part of the state has high temperatures and high humidity. Here in the Clyde area the humidity is really high when it gets to 35%. You can go further west and have even less humidity, but we found the right balance. We have bought land that has many large trees and can sit out in the shape anytime and be comfortable.
